Lunch was fun

I walked over to the marina just looking out at the water and saw a styrofoam cup floating in it. Not one to let things alone I found a pile of pebbles and was trying to sink it. Then a flock of about 10 seagulls landed near me on the seawall where I was standing and kept watching me. Every time one of the pebbles landed in the cup one or more of them would throw their heads back the way they do and it looked like they were laughing about it. I never could sink it though, even though I lobbed at least 10 pebbles in it. It was a lot lower in the water, but just wouldn't sink. I finally gave up and told the gulls "sorry guys, no sinking today.." and they flew off squaking at each other the way they do. See if I live long enough to be senile no one will know the difference...

For such a pretty bird they are so obnoxious. The way they fight over a single potato chip or french fry some one throws out is hilarious. You can always tell a dumb tourist on the beach, they try to feed them. And 2 seconds later run for cover because of the swarm of gulls bearing down on them...

If I am not mistaken, that is George the seagull who shared space with us in Salem, MA.

Nasty little critter, as I recall. I left a couple of fries on my plate and he swooped in to take the rest of my lunch.

Kinda beats out the tuna melt and chicken noodle soup I made for myself today LOL!

Seagulls are pretty and can be very amusing, but they are by and large a very nasty creature. They spend 99% of their time fighting with each other. LOL, kinda like this board...

Kinda makes me think of waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy back when (not that long agao [img]wink.gif[/img] ) When I used to eat lunch on the square every once in a while.
Go get a sammi from Izzy's or the bagle stop or a couple dogs from one of the carts and head on over to sit by the fountain and people watch. Of course, along with the people, you got the pigeons [img]eek.gif[/img]
Nice sunny day, lots of people bussling around, lots of stupid birds LOL!
